The RE100 Technical Criteria define the rules that RE100 member companies must follow when procuring renewable electricity, assessing progress towards their RE100 targets, and making renewable electricity claims.
Eligibility of joining TRE100
Eligible entities
Any company legally registered in Taiwan is eligible to apply for participation in the TRE100 initiative.
Commitment boundary
Applicants may choose one of the following commitment scopes:

The commitment covers the applicant company and all affiliated entities in which it holds 50% or more ownership
-
The commitment applies only to the applicant company
Additional requirements
In addition to the criteria above, applicants are required to align with the principles set out in the
RE100 Joining Criteria, where applicable.
Companies interested in joining TRE100 are encouraged to contact the Secretariat to discuss eligibility and commitment boundaries in more detail.

Review and discretion
Applications may be declined where a company is found to have significant historical or ongoing social, environmental, or other controversies that could undermine the credibility of its commitment or the reputation of the TRE100 initiative.
The Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) conducts appropriate due diligence as part of the review process and reserves the right to make the final determination regarding eligibility.

Inspired by these ambitious commitments, many non-large electricity users in Taiwan are also eager to support the growth of renewable energy and take part in the global transition.
n response to this momentum, CIER, RE100’s local campaign partner in Taiwan, has launched TRE100. As a sub-initiative aligned with RE100, TRE100 adopts RE100’s technical standards to create a tailored framework for non-large electricity users in Taiwan, enabling more companies to participate in global net-zero efforts in a consistent and credible way.
